Vir is an island resort located in the same name, located near the town of Zadar. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge built in 1976.

Vir Island is famous for its parties during the summer and special landscapes. This island has numerous pastures, meadows, limestone hills, rocks covered with vegetation, pine forests.

Tourists can enjoy some water sports such as surfing, sailing. The island offers plenty of footpaths, where people can do mountain biking.

The island is very populated in the summer months and do not need the ferry.

Some places to visit: Kastelina Venetian castle are the ruins of a century, dating from the seventeenth century, Church St. John / St John is a Romanian church, dating from the thirteenth century; Bandira is the highest point of the island, with an altitude of 112 meters, which offers a beautiful view over the surrounding islands, but also on Mount Velebit.
