Ciovo Island is located in Central Dalmatia and is connected by a bridge to the shore, and now is near the historic town of Trogir.
Ciovo Island was inhabited even in Roman times and during the Middle Ages there have been some small villages. Being mostly of stone, and here are some caves, the most famous being Bilosaj and Anicina Jama (pit Ana). Island seems an extension of Trogir and
offers many beautiful beaches and various historical monuments.
There are smaller towns in Ciovo: Slatina, Arbanija, Zedno, Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji. On the western side of the island are sand and gravel beaches, the largest being those in the Gulf Saldun.
