Vis is an island in central Dalmatia with an area of approximately 90 square kilometers. Dealurior limestone ridges covered with fertile valleys and forests, with red soils and interspersed with sand dunes, planted with vines.
The main settlements on the island are Vis and Komiza, unpolluted environment with crystal clear sea and marine scenery as well as local specialties - seafood from the cleanest part of the Adriatic, various sports and recreational opportunities, all of which constitutes the offer a dream vacation.
Traces of history dating from Roman sites can be found all around the island of Vis. Issa Roman town with the market (Agora - forum), the inscription of the 4th century BC hero Calius (Oldest verse found in Croatia), a bronze head of Aphrodite, the fort, the Franciscan monastery, make this island a place worth visiting.
