Primosten is a small port city located 30 km southeast of Sibenik. In the 16th century a bridge was built to connect the settlement on the island with the mainland. The name "Primosten" means "bridge." Surrounded by seven little islands, Primosten is a special gift from nature that leaves no one indifferent.
Primosten ranks among the most picturesque towns on the Adriatic, with many narrow streets, typical old Mediterranean city center. The old town is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants, whose cuisine will satisfy the most demanding tastes.
Many cultural and entertainment events taking place in the summer months, such as Fiesta and usages Primosten (first week of August). Important religious holidays include the holidays of Our Lady of Loretta (9 and 10 May) and Our Lady of Porto (27 July), when a grand procession around the city and the sea takes place.
Primosten twin spans two peninsulas: the first is located on the historic city center and on the other are the hotel complexes. Primosten Rogoznica and is among the most popular tourist resorts in Dalmacija. Tourist tradition started by their 60 years. The historic city center lies on a small hill and is characterized by many small streets leading to St. Jurj church, built in 1485 and renovated in 1760, which is nearby and the city cemetery. The cemetery lies a wonderful prinelişte to sea and town. Primosten is known as one of the most romantic cities of Dalmatia for its narrow streets among the shining blue sea with sunny beaches and umbrella pines.
